Welcome!

Welcome to Baker Historic Neighborhood Association website! BHNA is the registered neighborhood organization for the area bounded by Sixth Avenue, Lincoln Street, Mississippi Avenue, and the South Platte River. Click here for a map.

The Baker neighborhood is a diverse, dynamic neighborhood located in the urban core of Denver, Colorado. First plotted and developed in the 1870’s, Baker has played a central role in the history of Denver. Today Baker enjoys a number of qualities and characteristics that make it a vibrant urban neighborhood including a diverse urban population, preserved historic homes, proximity to Broadway’s Main Street development which promises diverse shopping, casual and fine dining, and an array of entertainment, as well as access to mass transit.

BHNA is a volunteer membership organization working to build community through fellowship and cooperation. In order to be a member, one must only be a resident, property owner or busiess owner within the boundaries of the neighborhood. This website is a service offered by BHNA to provide a means to inform, collaborate, and assist residents of Baker and beyond.

If you have questions or would like to communicate with BHNA please contact us.

Thank you Baker!

The first annual Spring Fling and the 20th Annual Baker Bargains were a smashing success!  Thank you to all the residents and business owners that assisted in making our events a hit.  Our combined efforts ensure that BHNA has the capacity to move forward in its mission of building community through cooperation.  Again, thank you.

To learn more about how historic Byers Junior High School is danger and to take action, read the attached flyer.
  • Residents of Baker have a history of building community through neighborhood block parties.  For those interested in putting together a block party, please review the Block Party Toolkit.
