BHNA’s Energy Efficiency Rebates for Your Home
you want to make your home more comfortable, affordable and energy
efficient? If so, now is the time to act! The BHNA received matching
funds from the City & County of Denver’s Sustainable Neighborhoods program
to help Baker residents make their homes more energy efficient. Any
home in the Baker neighborhood is eligible to receive up to $300 towards
home energy upgrades, but hurry!
Funds are expected to run out by August 2016 and will be dispersed on a first-come, first-served basis.
Get your BHNA rebate in three simple steps:
- Contact the Denver Energy Challenge Program.
Get a personal energy advisor who will work with you to draft a
tailored plan to identify and prioritize ways to make your home more
efficient, comfortable and affordable. This is a free, ongoing service
provided through the City & County of Denver’s Environmental Health
Department. DenverEnergy.org or call 720-865-5520. *In order to receive a rebate through BHNA residents must participate in the Denver Energy Challenge.
- Identify rebates.
Your advisor will let you know if any upgrades recommended for your
home are eligible for an Xcel rebate. If so, the BHNA will match that
rebate amount up to $300 while funds last!
Eligible upgrades include Attic Insulation, Air Sealing and Weather
Stripping, Wall Insulation, Evaporative Cooling Systems, 95% AFUE High
Efficiency Furnace Replacement, Hot Water Heater Replacement, and
Programmable Thermostat Purchase and more. For a complete list, see
Xcel’s webpage here.
- Find a contractor and complete your energy upgrades. Your advisor will help you to find a qualified contractor, review bids and handle the rebate paperwork for you. Note
that to be eligible for the rebates, contractors must be part of the
Xcel Energy or Denver Energy Challenge contractor pool. It may take a
few weeks to process the rebates after upgrades have been completed.
Energy Challenge advisors have helped over 10,300 Denver residents
reduce their energy bills by an average of 23%. You can too! Contact the
Denver Energy Challenge today to get started and to enjoy BHNA’s double
rebates while funds last! Denverenergy.org 720-865-5520.
